Danske Bank Management Changes

  • Danske Bank Group has today announced that Gerry Mallon is to step down from his position as Chief Executive of Danske Bank UK (Northern Bank Limited). He will be replaced in the role by current Deputy CEO and Managing Director of Business Banking, Kevin Kingston.  This appointment is subject to the regulatory approval process.

    Lars Mørch, Chairman of Danske Bank UK, said:

    “I would like to express our thanks to Gerry Mallon for his significant contribution to Danske Bank over the last eight years. Danske Bank has built a strong position in the Northern Ireland marketplace and this year has continued its sustained upward growth trajectory.

    “Kevin Kingston has been instrumental to that success in terms of securing our position as the market leading bank for business customers. He brings with him a long track record of delivering what is best for customers and a wealth of experience in the banking sector.

    “Kevin and his wider management team will now lead the Bank on to the next stage in its development journey.”

    Kevin Kingston joined Danske Bank from Ulster Bank in 2008. In 2011 he became Managing Director of Business Banking and in 2012 was also designated as Deputy Chief Executive. He is the immediate past President of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce & Industry and a former President of the Chartered Accountants Ulster Society.

    Gerry Mallon will be taking up the Chief Executive position at Ulster Bank Ireland Ltd, with responsibility for the Bank’s operations in the Republic of Ireland.
