  Your role in the team

   

  Recently Allstate has diversified into Finance and Accountancy with a selection of exciting roles, and we are seeking the best people with the freshest ideas to join our new team.

  We are currently seeking an Accounting Consultant to support our growing financial footprint.

   

  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timely closing of the general ledger and assist in the financial reporting efforts of the accounting team. In addition, the Accounting Consultant will ensure financial accounts are reconciled and issues resolved timely enabling accurate financial reporting.

  This position is critical to the overall control environment of the Company. You will work in a highly collaborative environment primed to adapt to an ever-changing landscape and which places business solutions at its core.

   

  The Accounting Consultant will report into the NI Finance team for delivery

   

  • Prepares Treasury Stock Inventory and weighted average share repurchase calculation
  • Prepares monthly Direct Cash Flow Reporting
  • Posts and prepares Capital transactions journals and quarterly schedules for external disclosures for 10Qs and 10Ks, in additional to reporting on these monthly to senior management.
  • Actively participate in the month end close including preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, account rollforwards, and other supporting schedules as necessary
  • Reinsurance Balancing Preparation
  • Quarterly Statutory Business Summary Analysis (‘BSA’) Preparation
  • Laisse with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors.

  So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

  • All candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA Fully Qualified Accountant; or Qualified by experience, with max 3 exams to Fully Qualify 
  • Degree educated
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a Finance/Accountancy role
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite with strong Excel formula experience (pivot tables, v-lookups etc.).
  • Good working knowledge of SAP
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented approach to work with ability to multitask while meeting deadlines.
  • Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA

  • Good problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  •  Ability to communicate well, build relationships and work as part of a remote team
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, PowerPivot and PowerPoint
  • Good knowledge of control environments and SOX
