We are looking for experienced Security Engineers to join Aflac’s Global Security Organisation. As a Security Engineer, you will build out security infrastructure for our US based network as well as developing and enforcing technology standards.
At least one role will focus on encryption, key management, data masking, rights management, and DLP and there will be the opportunity to become the technical owner for the Data Protection environment at Aflac.
We are looking for individuals who are comfortable in both a technical leadership and practitioner capacity, working closely with the business to set a clear direction for the strategy while also keeping hands on.
The Team
Working as part of the Aflac Northern Ireland Cyber Security Team you will work with the Aflac Global Security Team to plan, manage and execute on the Global Security Engineering strategy.
These roles will play a key role in shaping our Security Team here in Belfast, allowing us to demonstrate our capabilities.
What you’ll be doing
- Partner with Global Security Architecture & Engineering Teams to develop, implement, and improve capability roadmaps based on industry best practices.
- Be responsible for planning, scoping, deploying and integrating technologies to work with on-prem, hosted, and cloud infrastructure as applicable.
- Identify Security-related technical gaps in application designs and respond with industry best practice processes that meet both the technical need and adhere to technical standards and regulatory/compliance requirements.
- Identify and evaluate business & technology risks as well as potential threats & vulnerabilities in existing business processes and formulate viable remediation strategies and opportunities for internal control improvement.
- Act as a Technical Lead and SME on project teams, providing knowledge sharing and technical assistance to other team members.
- Assist with the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods and tools to support service offerings or industry projects.
- Take a lead role in mapping security standards to technical solutions in support of business needs.
- Analyse, champion, and coordinate deployment of encryption solutions according to Aflac Encryption policies
What you need to have (don't worry if you don't have it all)
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer related discipline and or 5+ years related work experience in related information security fields
- Significant Business Analyst and or Software Development experience preferably in a large financial services environment
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to pull and use data to identify and solve ambiguous problems
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in data modeling, ETL, data warehousing, and transformation of large scale data sources using SQL
- Hands on with SQL Server based DDL/DML creation, along with ability to fine tune the queries
Desirable
- Knowledge of encryption, test data management and other data protection technologies (i.e. HP Voltage, Protegrity, Delphix etc.)
- Experience in designing and implementing identity and access management solutions
- Knowledge and practical experience of OWASP secure coding standards
- Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and security best practices
- Understanding of business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls and related standards
- Experience in an Agile / DevOps environment
- Familiarity with key generation and management technologies (HSM, EKM)
- Experience completing new product evaluations and implementations and with vendor relationship management
- Understanding of challenges and technologies addressing Data Loss Prevention
- CISSP, CCSP certifications
- Familiarity with PCI, US HIPAA, US FFIEC, and US NIST cybersecurity standards
