    Our Systems Delivery & Modernisation team are both technology platform and programme delivery specialists. We are frequently responsible for delivering our client’s biggest technology-enabled transformations – blending strong relationships with our clients, deep experience in Education, platform technical expertise, and delivery experience.

    Our aim is to leverage the industry knowledge we have across our Education team and combine this with our experience in digital technologies - blending strategic thinking with technology expertise to develop and implement technology-led transformations.

    As a Director, you will typically lead complex business transformation programmes (enabled by technology, innovation, cloud platforms), leading a team of Deloitte consultants to deliver a client outcome.

    • In turn, you’ll be able to coach and support the ‘next-gen’ consultants as they grow and gain experience

    The nature of the work varies but as a senior leader in our practice, you will typically be expected to have responsibility for:

    • ; complete project planning and budgeting; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; manage diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
    • ; develop and foster deep industry-focused relationships with key clients
    • ; develop and maintain contact with decision makers at key clients; participate and lead proposals
    • ; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support delivery teams and staff in local offices

    We are looking to hire people with experience of helping Education organisations transform - making the best use of new technologies. Ideally you will have experience of supporting organisations in one or more of the following areas:

    • Partnering directly with CIOs / CTOs / COOs to shape and mobilise technology transformations – e.g. from early business case through to delivery
    • Leading technology-enabled change programmes; digital, front office, back office or anything in between
    • Shifting to and getting business advantage from the use of Cloud platforms e.g. AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
    • Delivering programmes to drive business advantage from the use of data and AI; e.g. either customer-facing initiatives or enterprise AI / data
    • Implementing modern Quality Test Engineering principals - e.g. intelligent autonomous frameworks, IoT strategies, data approaches to predict risks and identify opportunities with a mindset of user advocacy

    Our programmes have societal impact transforming our clients and industry, and are typically composed of many of the following: digital and front-office, ERP and back-office, data and AI, cyber/security, cloud, integration and middleware, service transition, and dev ops.

    We are looking for people who enjoy addressing complex problems, with a proven record for effective delivery in a project or programme environment - those who enjoy working in a team and be involved in a collaborative community.

    To qualify for the role you must have:

    • An understanding of the major issues faced in the Education sector and an interest in innovative solutions and strategies to drive transformation
    • Proven track record and expertise in leading the strategy, design and delivery of complex technology-enabled business change programmes across a range of front and back office technologies, including the use of Gen AI
    • Experience delivering transformation programmes the incorporate user experience, design, build, test, security change, training, and other relevant capabilities. Demonstrated ability to deliver a cohesive solution
    • Understanding of the principles of Agile, and experience with Agile programme delivery
    • Demonstrable experience of building client relationships and delivering client experience
    • Understanding client needs and translating them into feasible solutions aligned with their business strategy
    • Proven experience of managing successful teams and engagements on time and to budget
    • Understanding of how to scope, plan and lead engagements with appropriate timelines and costs
    • Critical thinking skills and ability to articulate concepts, including good content presentation development and delivery skills
    • Good communication and people skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to different audiences within an organisation, and effectively engage with stakeholders ranging from subject matter experts to senior functional leads

    Ideally you will also have one or more of the following:

    • Experience of working on complex engagements
    • A network of industry contacts and connections with buying influence
    • Knowledge of implementing digital products
    • Knowledge of scale Cloud vendors and/or large front office/back office platforms

    Personal independence

    Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm.  The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process.

    Our hybrid working policy 

    You’ll be based in one of our UK offices  with hybrid working. Our hybrid model enables our people to collaborate, connect and innovate in both a virtual and physical capacity.   As well as remote working, you’ll attend your local office, virtual collaboration spaces and client sites, depending on the requirements of the role.
