Digital Development Developer

    We are a growing team in Technology and Digital Development, spearheading the analysis, development and implementation of new automation / digital technologies in Danske Bank UK to realise our ambitious digitisation goals.     Digital Development are currently recruiting for Digital Development Developers.

    The Digital Development team develop and deliver a customer centric digital transformation programme across Danske Bank. The team is responsible for the digital strategy in Danske Bank UK. This includes maximising delivery from existing digital solutions and working with internal and external networks, and Danske Bank Group, to secure investment into new and emerging technologies allowing Danske Bank to offer truly innovative digital customer solutions.

    Role Description

    The role holder will develop, test, implement and maintain robotic automated processes.

    This will involve using a combination of programming software within an agile framework to support the implementation of our Digitise and Simplify programme and to make more possible across Danske Bank UK.

    The role involves working closely with Business Analysts, subject matter experts and the Automation Technical Architect to design, develop, test and implement automation solutions.

    There will be full training on existing and future automation technologies.

     Typical Responsibilities 

    • Contribute to the design, build, implementation, testing and maintenance/support of automation solutions.
    • Work with Business Analysts to access and understand potential automation solutions to real life business problems. 
    • Testing – develop, coordinate and undertake testing activities to ensure robotic solutions function properly to suit business requirements and ensure build minimises exceptional transactions falling out of standard
    • Release Management – support the planning and release of automation solutions to achieve a co-ordinated rollout of changes.
    • Support Existing Automations including, root cause analysis, clean up, and bug fixes
    • Quality Management – follow agreed protocols for project and automation processes. This includes Zero defects in outputs, documentation and programming.
    • Ensure full compliance with all Group standards, policies, processes and procedures and with all external legal, regulatory and voluntary code obligations, thus enabling the customer to be provided with a high quality, professional and compliant service. 
    • Bring to the attention of the Solutions Architect / Automation Technical Architect any problems or issues that could impact on live/in progress solutions to enable corrective action to be taken.
    • Undertake various initiatives / projects around new technology as assigned by the Automation Development Manager.
    • Train colleagues as necessary and share best practices across Robotics Centre of Excellence.

    Experience

    Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following experience:

    Essential:

    • Experience of developing RPA solutions in UI Path
    • Experience in solving business or process problems using technical solutions.
    • Experience interpreting process diagrams to design solutions that provide value to the user
    • Excellent PC Skills with Microsoft products 
    • Understanding of workflow-based logic and the ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram and to conceptualise it as an automated solution
    • Understanding of standard documentation such as PDD/SDD 

    Preferred:

    • Structured Development in any supporting development language e.g python, Javascript, SQL, VB.NET desirable
    • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps and Cyberark
    • Experience of leveraging APIs within a robotic process
    • Knowledge or Experience of Power Automate 
    • Track record in successful delivery and support of excel macros, visual basic scripts or other configuration / scripting type technology is desirable

    As well as offering a competitive salary, this role includes 37 days annual leave per year (27 days leave plus 10 days paid bank holidays), funded private medical care, and up to 10% pension contribution.

    How we work 

    Our belief is that we are “Better when Together” and want to balance the benefits of teaming up in person with flexible working where possible.  This is a 35 hour per week role, but flexibility and some travel may be required depending on business needs.

    We work in a hybrid environment and we ask colleagues to attend their base location a minimum of 3 days a week so they can connect, collaborate and learn together. The other 2 days can be worked either from home or another bank location.  Some of our roles are customer facing which means that it’s really important to be able to work with customers face to face and hybrid working isn’t appropriate.
