Belfast software firm in Transport for London deal

  • Northern Irish company Automated Intelligence will integrate Crossrail’s data with Transport for London.

Automated Intelligence (AI), a software company based at Catalyst Inc in Belfast, has been selected to integrate data from Europe’s largest ever infrastructure project, Crossrail, to Transport for London’s (TfL) Cloud platforms.

The company's technology provides analysis of information quickly and accurately, categorises the data, and securely moves valuable content to Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Office 365.

Automated Intelligence’s data remediation solution will perform data profiling on the information migrated. AI will remediate and migrate 42 Terabytes of Crossrail’s data to TfL.

One of the unique propositions that Automated Intelligence provided to Crossrail is the use of a portable data centre, Microsoft Data Box, to transfer large data volumes securely. The Belfast software company is the only Data Box partner in Europe.

“Quick and accurate access to the integrated Crossrail data will be essential to the ongoing support of the Elizabeth line management and maintenance," said Mark Godfrey, CEO of Automated Intelligence.

“With tens of terabytes of data and a strict December deadline, this is a large-scale and hugely significant project and we will be a key component of the handover process.”
