AMI appoints new financial controller

  • AMI has appointed Derval Rooney as their new financial controller.

The company enables organisations in the public and private sectors across Ireland and the UK to safely dispose of their ICT assets and minimise the risk of harmful data leaks.

This newly created role will see AMI bring its outsourced finance function in-house.

Derval will also be responsible for providing AMI with greater oversight and accountability for its financial performance across all service lines.

As a member of the senior management team, she will also help drive AMI’s growth and performance strategy, overseeing the execution of long-term business plans.

Derval has extensive experience in the finance industry, having held roles across all aspects of finance, from auditing to corporate finance to in-house accounting. Prior to joining AMI, she held the position of financial controller for Belfast-based software company, Automated Intelligence, for two years.

She was responsible for the day-to-day control of financial operations, and worked closely alongside sales, marketing and professional services departments.

Previously, Derval held positions as a client services senior accountant for Augentius, corporate finance senior with KPMG, and audit assistant manager with Deloitte.

She holds a number of financial qualifications including a First Class Honours Degree in Accounting and Finance from Queen’s University Belfast and is a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
