New Belfast office investment 'The Mercantile' announced

  • A significant new Belfast office development was announced this week at MIPIM. The Mercantile will include 73,000 sq ft of office space in the heart of Belfast.

It seems as if there's a new building going up or office rennovation going in Belfast every week, and that long list of property investments grew again this week with the announcement of another landmark office development in Belfast. The new project named 'The Mercantile' was launched at the international property investment conference MIPIM this week.

The Mercantile will be built on the site at 5 Donegall Square South and will include around 73,000 sq ft of grade A office space across eight upper floors, in addition to 10,000sq ft in ground and lower floors that would be suitable for restaurants and leisure spaces. The development is being produced by Killultagh Estates and is expected to be completed in Q3 2020.

Brendan Boyd, Director at Killultagh Estates, said: "The Mercantile is a great example of high-end, modern Grade A office accommodation, and given its prime city centre location, it will provide an unrivalled occupier experience."

The building is being developed with the most modern office standards and will be the first development in Northern Ireland to achieve a platinum-level WiredScore rating. The letting agents on the development are Colliers International and Lambert Smith Hampton.
