1 million Italians to tune in to Northern Ireland
Italy’s most popular and longest-running TV travel programme, Kilimangiaro, is filming in Northern Ireland this week. The show reaches more than one million households across Italy on RAI 3, the national TV channel.
Tourism Ireland in Milan, in conjunction with Tourism NI, invited a camera crew to come and film here for the Kilimangiaro show. They are capturing footage right around the county, including at Florence Court, Enniskillen Castle, Share Discovery Village, Belleek Pottery, Finn Lough Resort, Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark, Lough Navar and Castle Coole. The resulting programme will air next spring.
“We are delighted that the Kilimangiaro TV show is filming in Fermanagh this week – it’s the kind of publicity that money simply could not buy and a superb way to highlight Northern Ireland to more than one million Italians, positioning Northern Ireland as a highly desirable place to visit,” said Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Italy. “Publicity is an important element of our overall promotional programme, helping to raise awareness through the Italian media of the many things to see and do on a holiday in Northern Ireland.”
