Queen's hosts US computer science teacher exchange programme

  • CME Group Foundation has brought the first computer science teacher exchange programme to Belfast from Chicago. The aim was to discuss how best to train and upskill teachers of other subjects in computer science. 

    Lucia Dettori and Valerie Curry from Chicago Public Schools (CPS) visited Queen’s University Belfast on Tuesday 26 June. They discussed their computer science teaching experiences with Kassie Davis from CME Group Foundation. 

    CME Group Foundation is funding the programme which is supported by Dr Philip Hanna, Angela Allen, Matthew Collins and Andrew McDowell from Queen’s University Belfast. 

    Chicago Public School is the first school district in America to require computer science for graduation.
