UUC Journalism students launch MasterCast podcast

  • Students from the Journalism Masters course at Ulster University Coleraine have today launched Episode 1 of their brand new podcast; MasterCast.

The series will focus on general politics, news and current affairs particularly within Northern Ireland, with the first episode focusing on Brexit.

According to 2018 statistics from broadcasting regulator Ofcom, nearly six million adults in the UK now tune in to podcasts each week.

These figures have doubled since 2013 and also show that half of podcasts listeners are under 35.

This number is still increasing, with TV and radio broadcasters embracing the medium, so there is no better time than the present for students to get on board with the still rising trend.

Listen to Ep.1 of MasterCast below.
