  • Energising Tomorrow’s World is the theme of the first ‘Women in Tech NI’ Conference being organised by Women in Business NI and a collective of leading technology companies and organisations working in Northern Ireland.

The one-day conference which will be held at Titanic Belfast on Thursday 8 February aims to equip and enthuse women working in the Northern Ireland technology sector and offer an opportunity for them to learn and network.

Local technology entrepreneur and angel investor Mary McKenna MBE will deliver the keynote address. She co-founded the successful Northern Irish e-learning company Learning Pool and now works with early-stage startups.

Global and local perspectives will inform sessions about career progression, networking and the workplace along with discussion sessions on emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things and the impact of Artificial Intelligence.

The exciting agenda gathers both female and male role models who innovate, challenge and embrace technology along with influential entrepreneurs who will inspire through stories of their journeys.

The morning session of the conference will be linked with the annual London ‘Everywoman in Tech’ Forum which is being live streamed from the London Hilton in Park Lane.  In the afternoon, local speakers will lead discussions at a range of breakout sessions before technology entrepreneur Mary McKenna delivers the closing keynote address.

Women in Business Chief Executive Roseann Kelly said “In partnership with many of Northern Ireland’s leading tech companies and Everywoman in London, we have organised a great conference agenda with world class speakers streamed live into Titanic Belfast, along with a host of local experts who will present in person to the expected audience of 300 attendees.”

She added: “Whether you’re a graduate at the start of your career, an aspiring leader wanting to boost the performance of their team, or an entrepreneur wanting to make a big step, this event is for you. I would advise anyone who is looking to advance their career and is inspired by the line-up of conference speakers and panellists to visit the Women in Business NI website womeninbusinessni.com and register their place today.”
