  • Local charity the Clanrye Group which specialises in the training of disadvantaged or disabled individuals, equipped itself with essential ICT skills following a special coding workshop delivered by leading ICT solutions provider Fujitsu with help from students at St Louis Grammar School, Kilkeel.

    The workshops are based on a series of user-friendly manuals – the ‘Go Berserk’ coding books - authored by Will Moore and Stranmillis University College lecturer, Ian Simons. The resource encourages people to learn how to create websites and software coding skills such as HTML and CSS.

    Pupils from St Louis Grammar School who completed Fujitsu’s ‘Go Berserk’ work experience programme earlier this year, supported experts from the company as they delivered the interactive training programme. The Clanrye Group participants successfully created a website during the workshop session, learning essential ICT skills.

    Speaking about the ‘Go Berserk’ Workshop Sinead Dillon, Principal Consultant at Fujitsu said;

    “The Clanrye Group already offers a superb range of specialised training for those who are unsure about their future career direction and require guidance and focused support. We are pleased to contribute to their worthwhile work by showing its participants and staff how to develop and harness digital skills – a powerful way for people to extend their educational and career opportunities.”
