Finance Minister Simon Hamilton said: “Belfast has produced outstanding business men and women who have played, and continue to play, an important role in driving growth and economic sustainability throughout challenging economic conditions.

The announcement of the Belfast Business Top 50 by Finance Minister Simon Hamilton is part of the Belfast Homecoming and One City Conference. 50 members of the diaspora, led by the Mayor of Boston, Marty Walsh, will join 150 local civic leaders to discuss how best to create a prosperous, united and diverse Belfast.

“We run our own island-wide Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards and we see how important recognition is to encourage excellence, demonstrate best practices, motivate employees and give businesses a fantastic platform from which to talk to new customers about what they have achieved and what they can offer. It would be great to see some of those honoured in the Belfast Business Top 50 go on to receive further recognition and become Ulster Bank Business Achievers”

The Growth Award, sponsored by Invest Northern Ireland, the region’s business development agency, will be presented to a company that has demonstrated exceptional levels of business growth over the past 12 months.

The Belfast Business Top 50 celebration will be marked by the publication of a special magazine in print and online to profile awards recipients and highlight their achievements.
