Alliance will bring powerful data analytics capabilities to Kainos customers in Financial Services, Government and Healthcare, taking information discovery to the next level  -

Digital technology solutions company Kainos has today announced a pan-European industry partnership with Cloudera, the market leader in enterprise analytic data management powered by Apache Hadoop™, through which new and existing Kainos customers will benefit from powerful, enterprise-class big-data analytics.

The partnership combines the power of Cloudera Enterprise, Cloudera’s comprehensive Hadoop-based data management solutions and services optimised to meet the needs of large organisations, with Kainos expertise in data integration, data quality and complex project delivery. The partnership will focus initially on the UK and Ireland where Kainos has an extensive customer base for its digital information management solutions, particularly in the financial services, government and healthcare sectors.

“Big data interrogation and analysis is a natural extension of our work,” comments Noel Crowley, Head of Financial Services and Enterprise at Kainos, “This partnership with Cloudera is very exciting for Kainos customers. Cloudera is the leader in Apache Hadoop-based software and services. Its powerful big data platform enables organisations to dig deep into reams of internal data — structured as well as unstructured — and ask bigger questions.”

In November 2013, Kainos unveiled powerful analytics capabilities in the next-generation of its acclaimed Evolve® EMR electronic medical records solution for the healthcare market. The new features, already being trialled by several UK Trusts, will make it possible to identify breakthrough patterns from complete patient records compiled in real time from disparate data held in legacy case notes, GP correspondence and diverse hospital systems. This will drive powerful new insight, helping medical staff to predict and prevent emerging conditions.

Tim Stevens, vice president, Business and Corporate Development at Cloudera said, “We are pleased to partner with Kainos.  It is a strong firm with experience in delivering information management and data analytics for their customers. Their endorsement of Cloudera Enterprise as the foundation of an enterprise data hub can help customers become information-driven by leveraging the best of the open source community with the enterprise capabilities needed to succeed with Apache Hadoop in their organisation”
