IT Help Desk Specialist

  • How You’ll Support Our Mission

    ESO’s teams are growing, and our software is in demand globally by firefighters, paramedics, hospitals and governments. We are looking for an IT Helpdesk Specialist to provide enterprise-level assistance to our employees. You will diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems and help install applications and programmes. If you are a natural helper, enjoy assisting people with computer issues and can explain technical details simply, this could be the role for you.

    You will be a member of our IT Operations team in Belfast reporting to the Director of Information Technology.

    What You’ll Be Doing - the day to day

    Your responsibilities include resolving network issues, configuring operating systems and using remote desktop connections to provide immediate support. You will use email and chat applications to give internal teams quick answers to simple IT issues. For more complex problems that require nuanced instruction, you will contact internal teams via phone and/or provide clear, written instructions and technical manuals.

    Who You Are - the essentials:  

    • At least 3 years’ experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician, or similar role
    • Hands-on experience with Windows/Mac OS environments
    • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products
    • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
    • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software (e.g., Jira ServiceDesk, Zendesk, etc.)
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
    • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal

    Who You Are - the desirables:  

    • Additional certification in Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, or similar technologies is a plus 
    • Exposure to working with cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, O365 admin)
