Product Operations Specialist

    ESO’s mission is to improve community health and safety through the power of data. Our industry-leading software products are used by more than 15,000 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies, Fire Departments, Hospitals, and State agencies across North America.  

    We’re looking for a data-driven Product Operations Specialist who is passionate about increasing the quality and strategic decision-making across ESO’s Product Management team. As a Product Ops Specialist you’ll be working closely with our VP of Product and our Head of User Experience to apply consistent operational practice across the entire cross-functional team. 

    In this role, you will organise and systematise product practices which empower Product Managers to focus more of their time on strategic thinking, user research, problem discovery work, and data validation. You will bring consistent practice across the platform, help close the product feedback loop and reduce tech debt across the organization as decisions will be made using quantifiable data. You will help us solve our user’s needs faster by focussing on the right problems to solve, which will enable our users to get back to saving lives quicker. 

    This role reports to the Head of UX (Belfast) and will work closely with our VP of Product (Austin), you will be part of our Product Management team and will be based in Belfast. 

     What You’ll Be Doing - the day to day 

    • Developing an in-depth understanding of the product teams you support, their goals and vision.  
    • Working closely with the Head of UX to strategically roll out application engagement analytics and other product Telemetry, which empowers our product suite teams and cross-functional partners. 
    • Building and maintaining data dashboards that measure and visualise our products’ performance across a variety of dimensions, supplying data-driven insights and reports to the Product teams. 
    • Supporting and coaching product teams on how to make data-driven decisions to get to the right outcomes faster, advocating for best practices in tools and instrumentation.  
    • Creating and refining processes that enable us to run more experiments (creating hypotheses faster that can be tested and iterated in true agile fashion). 
    • Maintaining a strong working relationship across the org (Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, Training, Marketing, Finance) built on trust, accountability, and commitment to outcomes.   
    • Supporting evaluative and generative studies to capture a real-time understanding of the health of our products so that we can proactively identify issues and opportunities for our customers, which will inform Product strategy. 
    • Utilising cross-functional data to correlate trends and identify strategic actions, helping our Product Management team prioritise and solve ambiguous problems. 
    • Drive strategic initiatives across the Product Management team to improve process maturity and consistency across the ESO product portfolio.  
    • Occasional travel to ESO offices in Austin, TX may be required.  

    Who You Are - the essentials:  

    • A strong desire to work in Health-tech and a passion for building great technology for emergency responders so that they can focus on saving lives. 
    • 3-5 year’s experience in a Product Management/ Product Ops / UX research or analysis, or similar role. 
    • Track record of using financial data, usage metrics, and other KPIs to help guide decision making. 
    • Experience implementing and using a Product telemetry tool such as Pendo, Gainsight, Heap, Mixpanel or other similar competitors. 
    • Strong passion for product management, product process and sharing/educating others on best practices 
    • Curiosity and passion for problem-solving, both conceptually and analytically, towards optimising strategy be driven by achieving measurable outcomes for our customers and the business. 
    • Have an understanding of the theory of qualitative and quantitative UX research methods, their limitations and when to apply them.  

    Who You Are - the desirables:  

    • Experience building and maintaining dashboards with Microsoft PowerBI.
    • Experience communicating your data-based recommendations to stakeholders and product leads. 
    • Formal product management training (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, Pragmatic Institute, etc.) 
    • Experience in a fast-growing enterprise Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technology company, ideally in a mission-critical environment where quality matters. 
    • Experience working in intercultural environments and collaborating with diverse teams.
