FullStack Engineer

  • Position Overview

    At HighRoads we rely on our dynamic team to solve the many challenges and puzzles that come with our rapidly evolving technical stack.  We are hoping to find a junior UX designer to join our growing Usability team in Belfast. We are interested in designers who are enthusiastic and passionate about user centric design and care about crafting software that improves people’s lives.

     

    About the Role 


    • Communicate design ideas using a variety of methods such as sketches, wireframes, high fidelity concepts and interactive prototypes to gather feedback and provide assets for implementation.
    • Interpret and follow design guidelines. Maintain and contribute to our evolving design system using Figma. 
    • Participate in collaborative design sessions with Stakeholders and Product Owners to develop ideas and rationalise requirements.  
       
    • Through user research and testing, you will support the team in discovering pain-points, identifying user needs and exposing areas of opportunity. 
    • Work closely with the Lead Product Designer, sharing and developing ideas. Building a strong relationship and ensuring a cohesive product experience. 

     

    • Actively engage and communicate with other team members (Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, etc) to fully understand feasibility and desirability of solutions. 

     

    About You

      

    • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role (UX Design / Product Design)

     

    • Undergraduate degree in Design, User Experience, HCI, or a related field. In lieu of degree, relevant skills, or equivalent experience.

     

    • Experience using Figma (or similar) 
    • User centric - Strong passion for User Centric Design and User Experience Design, with a continuous attitude for growth. Understand quantitative and qualitative research techniques and how/when to use them.
    • Confident – You will be a key part in the growing team and will have support, but you need to be able to take ownership of your tasks and have confidence to work independently when required.
    • Collaboration – Assist the Lead Product Designer while sharing and growing ideas to improve the platform. Enjoy working with others during collaborative ideation sessions. Be receptive to feedback and have positive attitude towards an iterative design process. 
    • Strong Communication– Have strong verbal and written communication skills. Be able to clearly communicate your ideas based on research in visual form. Be evidence driven, and care about your decisions. Comfortable explaining ‘why’ you made decisions and ‘how’ you implemented them.

     

    Nice to have


    • Experience designing SaaS
    • Understanding of the Salesforce Lightning Design System
    • Previous experience working in an Agile environment

     

    • Familiar with Jira / Confluence (or similar)

     

    • Previous Experience with user behavioural tools such as FullStory, Hotjar, Crazy Egg (or similar)

     

    • Exposure to online collaboration tools such as Figjam, Mural, Miro (or similar)
