    The Role

    We are hiring a technical software sustain engineer who is motivated by troubleshooting and diagnosing issues found in the Enterprise Data Protection products and delivering timely and high-quality code and architectural fixes to Proofpoint customers. Strong problem determination, isolation, and root cause analysis skills are required to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. In this role you will work with the Customer Success Backline Technical Support and Product Engineering teams to address product defects by applying code fixes and patches to Enterprise products and platforms.

    • Senior Help Desk Agent
    • Senior Systems Administrator
    • Senior Systems Engineer
    • Senior Network Administrator

    Your day-to-day

    • Provide Advanced Technical Support for current versions of the product to Backline Technical Support team
    • Automate and script daily tasks
    • Proactively identify and prevent customer issues
    • Work with engineering team to implement the bug fixes
    • Build product patches
    • The development of required design changes to resolve operational issues
    • Mentor Backline Technical Support members on the code, problem diagnosis and troubleshooting skills

    What you bring to the team

    • You are an engineer at heart and love working in a team to create great technology to solve challenging problems
    • Scripting BASH/Perl/Python knowledge
    • Hands on Linux experience - feel at home in a terminal
    • Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills including use of tools to analyze product logs and support dumps.
    • You have experience with sustaining and maintenance of Enterprise software products and tools
    • “Can Do” attitude, bring on the next challenge!
    • Self-learner / Diligent / Detail oriented / Curious
    • Cross functional communication skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Proactive, have a sense of Ownership/Accountability
