Research Communications Officer

  • We are home to some 7600 students and 700 academic and support staff who work in five Schools – Arts, English and Languages, History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics, Law, Management, and Social Sciences, Education and Social Work – and a Global Research Institute, the Senator George J Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice.

    This post is available for three years to make a significant contribution to developing and enhancing the profile and impact of academic research undertaken within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, at local, national and international levels.

    The successful candidate will work with colleagues in the Faculty, and with colleagues in the University’s key relevant support teams (Communications, Research Impact, Business Alliance and Public Engagement), to support the development and implementation of effective media and communications strategies for research projects identified for prioritisation and support.

    They will assist, in particular, with the development of broadcast programme ideas, the placement of features and opinion pieces, and the generation of critical reviews relating to books, performances etc. as appropriate.

    Salary scale: £32,548 - £38,833 per annum (potential to progress to £42,418 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
