Here’s the deal: We help people cover medical expenses beyond their standard health insurance, and when they come to us, they really need us. In Belfast, we are building great technology to support these customers in their time of need.

Our technology teams have grown significantly since we launched in October 2019 with 100 employees and counting! We’ve moved into our brand-new office space in City Quays 2 and we’re looking for someone to help our Leader of Operations ensure that Aflac Northern Ireland is in line with regulations and most importantly operates with good financial health. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the enthusiasm and vision to transform our finance operation. Supporting our team in their personal and professional development is very important to us so we would want to do what we can to support the successful candidate in their study journey towards chartered status or equivalent.

Due to the nature of this role, our preference is for someone who can work on 4 out of 5 days per week. Aside from that preference, we can offer a high degree of flexibility on the working pattern of the Finance Assistant who may be home (NI) or office based or a mixture of both.

    • Third level qualification in a business or finance related subject
    • Part-qualified accountant or accounting technician with a recognised professional body
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial environment within the public, private, voluntary or community sectors. Preference will be given to those candidates who have worked in a similar international subsidiary environment
    • Strong technical skills with extensive experience using IT financial systems and excel
    • Good working knowledge of Quickbooks
    • Experience of collation and monitoring of both financial and non-financial information and follow-up action as required
    • Cash-flow management
    • Budgeting & forecasting experience

    • Working knowledge of Analysis for Excel
    • Experience of working in a young, high-growth business
