Principle Product Senior Manager - Transformation Delivery

  • The opportunity

    As a Principal Product Manager you will be the day-to-day go-to person for a large scale product strategy and product delivery engagements. You will manage the delivery and output of cross-functional teams delivering to the scope of the project. You will work with various stakeholders within the client organisation to define the requirements, build the roadmap and manage the various backlogs. You will balance a user centred approach with a more pragmatic delivery focus to achieve measurable results for our client.

     

    Alongside the Practice Directors at you will help shape and build our product management capability and market proposition, and demonstrate the value added by product management within client engagements.

    Your key responsibilities

    • Overall accountability for the delivery of major digital products, driving £100Ms of annual revenue
    • Develop product vision and roadmaps across brand, process, people, commercial, experience and technology
    • Manage feature prioritisation in complex stakeholder environments across multiple business functions - Product, Marketing, Sales, Service, Finance and Technology
    • Identify and define new product requirements using an integration combination of requirements elicitation techniques - qualitative research, quantitative research, stakeholder workshops, current state analysis, competitor research, etc.
    • Develop and implement quantitative methods to measure the success of delivered products and drive continuous improvement
    • Lead the functional definition of complex product features and user stories and specifications in line with the product vision and work with large scale development teams to achieve this
    • Work in a consultative manner with client organisations to refine and optimise their approach to change delivery
    • Assume responsibility for the development of the product management discipline, including recruitment, mentoring and training of more junior team members

    • A strong understanding of most modern SaaS technology solutions and how they come together to provide a full stack solution from CRM to ecommerce to Finance.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to produce high-quality written deliverables in fluent English

     

    To qualify for the role, you must have

    • Bachelors and / or Masters degree in design, business or technology subject areas or relevant experience
    • Demonstrated track record leading the creation and optimisation of over 3 large digital products, with responsibility on each that extends beyond software delivery
    • Credible functional expert, with demonstrable track record in at least one of marketing, sales/eCommerce, service, technology or finance
    • Demonstrated track record of successful new business scale-up
    • Experience working in prominent management consulting and/or global system integrator organisations
    • Excellent people management capability and track record in line management of consulting organisations
    • A willingness to travel and work in client sites, both in the UK and overseas as and when required

     

    Ideally, you’ll also have

    • Industry recognised qualifications or certifications in applicable programme delivery areas - SAfE, PMI, PRINCE II, etc.
    • Recognised brand and prominence in chosen field - e.g. large social media following, track record of industry publications, participation in industry bodies or contribution to industry standards
