Testing Analyst - Data Migration

  • Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Testing Analyst – Data Migration based from our Belfast office. In this role, you will work on an Agile Scrum team that develops and supports internal .NET data migration applications. In addition, the team is responsible for creating and maintaining an ETL solution that provides the ability to migrate competitor’s data to various Applied Systems’ products.  Your focus will be on collaborating with the team in a manner that will result in the delivery of high quality products to our customers.  You will take ownership of testing tasks and researching defects.  As you progress in your role, you will develop into an expert on areas of each program assigned to you.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Monitor overall feature quality and accuracy
    • Test new functionality to determine if it is functioning as designed
    • Verify defects have been correctly fixed
    • Follow detailed instructions and standard procedures to perform repetitive or routine duties.
    • Create and maintain testing documentation
    • Create and maintain Help file documentation for customer use
    • Meet project deadlines and report status updates when ahead or behind schedule
    • Identify and communicate possible improvements for the product, QA, and Applied Systems as a whole
    • Identify and communicate possible improvements in the work process for customers and peers
    • Become a dedicated participant of your Agile Scrum team
    • Participating in Sprint Reviews of completed functionality at the end of each sprint 
    • Participating in Sprint planning of future development tasks 

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS JOB

    • Foundation Degree/BSC. in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience
    • Prior work experience in the software industry preferred
    • Ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment; experience with Agile Scrum methodology an asset 
    • Possess strong work ethic and well-developed testing experience/solid troubleshooting and research skills
    • Experience with or the ability to learn using automated testing tools
    • Experience with the platforms on which our products operate (Microsoft OS/SQL server)
    • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of applications
    • Must be Detail Oriented
