IT Technician

  • Psychology is about understanding behaviour – and as a subject, it is as diverse as our student intake.  Education is at the heart of our School and we want all our students to fulfil their potential both at Queen’s and after graduation.   

    To expand our dedicated IT service in support of a growing student population, we are looking for an IT support technician to join our existing team in the School of Psychology. Your role will be to provide IT guidance to students to support academic requirements and enhance the learning experience. You will also maintain and develop School IT teaching, learning and research facilities in support of student and staff users.

    The successful candidate must have, and you should clearly demonstrate this in your CV/Cover letter: 

    • Degree, HND or NVQ level 4 (or equivalent) in IT or a related discipline, or a combination of other IT qualifications and professional IT experience sufficient to demonstrate a comparable IT background.   
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience of supporting IT in a work environment, to include both hardware diagnostics and software installation and support.   

    Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
