Application Support Engineer

• Site Reliability Engineering is a team dedicated to developing solutions for operations problems and monitoring the overall operational health of ESO’s production systems.  As a member of this team, you will be collaborating with highly talented operations and development engineers to assist and support the reliability of our production systems.  You will be responsible for the daily tasks that maintain these systems as well as identifying and fixing app/data related problems.

  Reporting to the SRE Manager of Applications you will be part of our Site Reliability Engineering team.  

   

  What You’ll Be Doing – the day-to-day

  • Performing root cause analysis and document findings
  • Debugging, updating and reprocessing data submissions for customers
  • Writing SQL scripts to assist in daily operations
  • Performing quality audits of customer data
  • Resolving/escalating customer raised problems

   

  Who You Are - some of the essential things required to be successful in the role:

  • At least 1 year of experience with a programming language (C# or Java)
  • At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience handling JSON and XML data
  • At least 1 year experience with debugging large applications to determine an RCA

   

  Who You Are – it's desirable if you have any of the following:

  • Knowledge of XSLT 1.0 and 2.0
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (JIRA/Confluence)
