    Allstate operate a very flexible hybrid working model with a blend of remote and office working for NI based employees.  Employees based in GB will be employed on a permanent remote working contract.

    Your role in the team

     

    The Informatica System Administrator would be part of the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Platform team that provides administration and operational support for a wide range of products across the EDM toolset, ensuring that the products within the team’s portfolio remain stable and that operational SLA’s are maintained while having an input into the Tools Strategy/Technology Roadmap.

     

    As a System Administrator you’ll help us in providing system administration, operational support and problem resolution for a large complex Unix/Linux/Informatica environment, as well as setting up new Informatica Domains, Nodes and Services. You will have the opportunity to perform Unix/Linux administration including changes, deletes, disk space management, application installation, and backups including strong knowledge of Linux and shell scripting.

     

     

    We’re focused on developing our platform, and this is where you come in. Performing environment buildouts, site setup, user training, maintenance and support, and documentation of operating procedures and processes. Managing Domain, Node, Service configuration, and Repository Backup. Setting up LDAP and Users/ Groups Creation, Access Management (Privileges and Permissions), SSO integration and setting up SSL certificates, Outages Handling, Password Changes, Bouncing Activities or Restarting the Services, Coordinating with DBA, Network and UNIX/Linux team.

     

     

    In addition, the role would involve managing and planning efforts to research, design, plan and maintain new or existing hardware and software technology components for upgrade and/or possible product replacement.

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK
    • 4+ years’ experience as a System Administrator, Linux Administrator or DBA; and
    • Experience of Linux and shell scripting; and
    • Experience of SQL; and
    • Experience of one of the following Informatica tools
      • Informatica Data Quality (IDQ)
      • Informatica PowerCenter

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
    • Experience with Agile project management strongly preferred.
    • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
    • Experience on any of the following Informatica tools strongly preferred:
      • Informatica AXON
      • Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC)
      • Informatica Data Engineering Quality/Big Data Quality (DEQ/BDQ)
