    Your role in the team

    We have year-in-industry placement opportunities starting in summer 2021 for IT undergraduates with a keen interest in Customer Technical Support (including hardware, software and networking). 

    If you have an interest in solving technical issues coupled with a customer centric approach this opportunity is a perfect Job fit for you.

     

    • Optimize employee satisfaction by providing a support service experience that employees find welcoming and appealing.
    • Deliver support services that employees are eager to use.
    • Support includes personalized configuration, troubleshooting, problem resolution and proactive technical advice.
    • Support of mobility devices such as company mobile phones (Android, iOS), iPad, and wireless connectivity support.
    • Application and hardware support for all Managed Desktops (Windows/OSX), printers, network connectivity, VPN etc.
    • Personalized incident management for ticket creation, engineering engagement, escalation and direction, single point of contact for communication status
    • In Belfast, liaise and support Tech Café staff e.g. absence coverage and additional resourcing

     

    Applicants should have

    • Knowledge of, and keen interest in, IT Infrastructure to include;
    • PC – Windows/Apple OS/Hardware
    • Phone – Android/iOS/Blackberry/Windows
    • Conferencing – Video/Audio
    • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

    • All candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK
    • Expected to complete second year of a Computing related degree course by end June 2021 (or third year for relevant IT degrees).
    • Have achieved 2.1 classification or higher in your course modules to date. Please include a full list of module marks from your first year, and any current year to date. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the application.
    • Availability to travel to the US if required.
    • Full clean driving license and access to a car if based in Derry/L'Derry – mileage payments will be available.

     

    *Placement Students who successfully complete their one-year placement with Allstate Northern Ireland may be made conditional offers of permanent employment with Allstate at the end of their placement. These positions will commence post-graduation and will be subject to the student securing a minimum 2.1 classification in their IT degree*
