    Your role in the team

    We are pleased to announce a new role for an ETL Operational Support Analyst within the UCV (Unified Consumer View) team in the Data & Intelligent Systems (D&IS) area of Allstate Northern Ireland

    Our Unified Consumer View Technology Solutions (UCV-TS) team is responsible for delivering new functionality to support the Consumer Data platform and providing a 360 view of customer information across all channels.

    This ETL Operational Support Analyst position is for the UCV team that works with customer and marketing data in the AllCorp Data Warehouse (ADW). 

     

    • Second level support for batch job
    • Incident tickets (INC’s) – Pick up and work Incidents within SLA
    • Problem Tickets (PRB’s) – Ability to identify Root cause and correct.
    • Data Research Questions
    • Life Cycle tasks (EG, setting up jobs on new servers due to end-of-server-life server migrations)
    • Related Life cycle validation tasks (EG, validating batch job functionality after an Oracle version upgrade)
    • Disaster Recovery exercises
    • Ability to partner closely with the team and key business stakeholders
    • Provide technical assistance
    • Takes ownership and accepts responsibility for decisions which impacts own work area
    • Identifies, clarifies and resolves complex problems within own work area
    • Provide support in resolving data and technology issues

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

    • All candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK
    • A minimum of 2 years + experience with ETL based systems
    • 1+ years’ experience with Ab Initio AND SQL databases
    • Knowledge of data warehousing techniques
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels
    • Must be self-motivated with the ability to accomplish tasks independently
    • Ability to effectively work with a globally distributed cross-functional team

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

    • Previous Production Support experience
    • Knowledge of HDFS, Hadoop, Apache Hive, Cloudera or similar technologies.
    • Knowledge of Python / Scala
    • Understanding of relational databases and database structures preferably ORACLE
    • Good understanding of consumer data
    • Good collaboration skills across multiple levels and function
