    Your role in the team

    We are pleased to announce a new role for an ETL Developer within Allstate Northern Ireland. Our Unified Consumer View Technology Solutions (UCV-TS) team is responsible for delivering new functionality to support the Consumer Data platform and providing a 360 view of customer information across all channels .This ETL developer position is for the UCV team that works with customer and marketing data in the AllCorp Data Warehouse (ADW). 

    As our ETL Developer you’ll help us to develop and test production-ready solutions that meet requirements and design and build automated processes that monitor ETL programs for data quality and governance issues. Working alongside a team of dedicated data professionals you will participate in design reviews, code reviews, and other parts of lifecycle project development while creating documentation and provide suggested improvements according to subject matter expertise of the built solutions.

    Here within the UCV team we believe in taking ownership and accepting responsibility for decisions which impacts your own work area. You will be a leader and provide guidance to others within team on development strategy and technical solutions.

    This is an opportunity to develop your career, in not just providing support in resolving data and technology issues or working effectively with Product Owners and other senior stakeholders, but in being the catalyst for change and finding new and improved ways of working.

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

    • All candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK
    • A minimum of 2 years + experience with ETL based systems; and
    • A minimum of 1 years’ experience with Ab Initio and SQL databases

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

    • Experience developing experience of building data pipelines
    • Knowledge of HDFS, Hadoop, Apache Hive, Cloudera or similar technologies.
    • Knowledge of Python / Scala
    • Experience with Business Objects Reports/Universe Development
    • Understanding of relational databases and database structures preferably ORACLE
    • Good understanding of consumer data
    • Good collaboration skills across multiple levels and function
