    Job Description

    The Data Integrity Group (DIG Team) is responsible for the management and oversight of procedures and controls that are designed to ensure that critical Investment Data is accurate and consistent across systems.  There are multiple processes that the DIG team owns that are designed to help them achieve this goal. 

    The Eagle Security Reference Master (SRM) tool is designed to establish and maintain a Golden Copy of Allstate Investment Security Master detail.  By proactively validating data before it is propagated to downstream applications, the DIG team ensures consistency and validity to data across Investment Department applications. 

    The DIG team is also responsible for the management of detective control applications, like the Data Validation and Control (DVC) applications.  This tool permits the DIG team to canvas investment accounting and warehouse data for consistency and integrity prior to its use in financial reporting. 

    The DIG team also employs a number of one-off tools and reports to ensure that Credit Rating, Pricing, Trade, and Cash Settlement data, among others, is represented accurately across our many Investment applications.

    DIG Team Support Analysts are expected to execute processes and procedures per the team’s operational support documentation and identify when practice deviates from the documented process.

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

    Functional

    • Resolve data exceptions within specified guidelines when possible, and prompt escalation when needed
    • Resolve daily exceptions in Security Reference Master (SRM)
    • Security master set-up/review of various investments such as bonds, equities, and bank loans
    • Perform preliminary root cause analysis and make recommendations for procedure and control modifications to increase accuracy and efficiency
    • Work on other projects related to the DIG processes.
    • Participate in team projects, assignments and team responsibilities such as continual process improvement, strengthening of controls, peer analysis and team education sessions.

    Communication

    • Work effectively in a team environment
    • Provide status to Supervisor
    • Ability to work with all areas of Operations and Finance to resolve data anomalies and research issues
    • Participate in cross-team knowledge and awareness

    Perform Other Duties as Assigned

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    General Working Knowledge

    • Good oral and written communication skills to all levels of staff and management
    • Good analytical and issue resolution skills
    • Work effectively in a team environment
    • Demonstrate initiative and a high degree of self-motivation
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work assignments

    Advanced Working Knowledge

    • Moderate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, and Word
    • Experience coding in SQL

    Decision Making

    • Solid problem solving and decision-making skills
    • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

    Essential Criteria

    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
    • A 2.1 or above degree in Finance related discipline, or
    • A 2.1 or above degree in Business/IT with Finance module(s), or
    • A 2.1 or above degree in a non-finance related discipline but supported with an industry qualification within a finance or accountancy related discipline; and
    • Note that the above includes those degrees about to be awarded in June 2020
    • 10+ months experience in a Finance/Accountancy role
    • Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA

    Desirable Criteria

    • 12+ months experience of Systems, Data Structures, and Modeling, emphasis on Investments is strongly preferred
    • 12+ months experience of Data mining, Oracle SQL, or other OLAP Tools
