    Job Description

    We are pleased to announce new openings in the Marketing Analytics Data Engineering team, this is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and growing data centric team within the Marketing Analytics group.

    The Marketing Analytics group is responsible for using data to make decisions, which includes the development of frameworks and models that are leveraged to optimize marketing programs, drive efficiency and generate action from analytic insights. 

    We use data and analytics to decode how Allstate brand, audience development, message, content, and execution vehicles are all working together to engage prospect and current customers.  We are a results-driven, passionate group of analytic professionals that are developing marketing analytic solutions for our interconnected world.

    This role is suited to ambitious individuals with the drive and determination to make a difference.  Attitude is more important than current skillset. We are looking for competent coders who are fast learners and are able to pick up new skills and technologies quickly.

    Using a variety of technologies (including Hadoop, Cloud (AWS), Unix/Linux, Oracle and Tableau) the role will involve supporting the Allstate Marketing Dept. by providing data and analysis to direct and measure the performance of Marketing and Advertising campaigns.

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

    • Apply analytical techniques to draw added value from new and existing datasets.
    • Develop ETL programs to automatically build consolidated datasets from disparate data sources.
    • Assist in design and building automated processes to monitor and control ETL and analytical procedures.
    • Perform ad-hoc data integration and analysis to provide input for business problem solutions.
    • Help promote a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation within the team and to its data platform.
    • Produce visualizations to validate and explain analysis.
    • Working with other team members

    Essential Criteria

    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
    • Good with people – contributes to a culture of cohesiveness, support, growth and camaraderie.
    • Degree in Computer Science or in a scientific or engineering discipline, as well as having some practical experience of working in a Data Engineering-related role.
    • 1 Years Recentexperience using scripting languages e.g. Python, Scala, JavaScript, Unix Shell (ksh, csh, bash, etc.);
    • Recentexperience of using one or more of the following technologies, Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop/Big Data, Unix / Linux, Tableau.

    Desirable Criteria

    • Familiar with Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS)
    • Familiar with Agile methodologies & Devops approach to maintaining data pipelines and databases.
    • Understands how to use a metadata-driven approach to develop ETL Frameworks / pipelines.
    • Understanding of Marketing/Advertising.
    • Insurance knowledge.
