  Job Description

  The Security Operations Center (SOC) - Incident Handling Level 1 Analyst is responsible for monitoring multiple security technologies and alert systems to engage in the detection and remediation of potential security events and incidents. The analyst will follow detailed operational process and procedures to appropriately analyze, escalate, and assist in creation of cases, investigations, and contribute to the enhancement of Security Operations Center processes.

  Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

  • Monitor multiple security technologies, analyzing outputs and determining the next course of action.
  • Correlate and analyze events using skill and technology to detect IT security incidents.  
  • Follow detailed operational process and procedures to appropriately analyze, escalate, and assist in remediation of critical information security incidents.

  Essential Criteria

  • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
  • 4 years’ experience in a security or related technology-based role
  • 1+ years of information security related experience, in areas such as: security operations, incident analysis, incident handling, and vulnerability management or testing, system patching, log analysis, intrusion detection, or firewall administration.
  • 1+ years’ experience in one of the following: Network operations or engineering or System administration on Unix, Linux, or Windows
  • General technical skills include TCP/IP knowledge, networking and security product experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to acquire in-depth knowledge of network and host security technologies and products (such as firewalls, Network IDS, scanners) and continuously improve these skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

  Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of monitoring multiple security technologies, analyzing outputs and determining the next course of action.
  • Experience of correlating and analyzing events using skill and technology to detect IT security incidents.  
  • CompTIA Security + or equivalent security training.
