    Job Description

    We are excited to announce the establishment of a new Integrations Team within Allstate Canada (ACG) with focus on improving and modernizing the state of ACG integrations.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Scrum Master to play a key role within this global team which will comprise members from ANI, ACG and ASPL.

    We are looking of for an experienced Scrum Master with a proven track record in successfully operating within the agile scrum environment.

    As Scrum Master you will work closely with the Product Owner, developers, testers and all relevant stakeholders to direct development in line with Allstate Agile Practices ensuring the principles, engineering practices and Scrum framework are implemented correctly.

    In the role of Scrum Master, you will collaborate with team(s) to ensure they are fully aware of the strategic context of their work (driven by the Product Owner), have clarity on the relevant strategic goals and broader program plans, and developing an innovative, creative environment to give the team space to focus on the task at hand.

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

    Promoting Scrum/Agile Practices

     

    • Promote Scrum and Agile values, principles and practices
    • Coach and mentor team to achieve higher level of maturity on Agile/Scrum as required
    • Continuous benchmarking with industry best practice

    Organisation/Planning

    • Support team to ensure they can deliver what is requested – remove impediments which may hinder the success of the team (servant leadership)
    • Facilitate team meetings (retrospectives, reviews, refinement & Sprint planning) and attend integration meetings (Scrum of Scrum and where applicable Program Increment planning)
    • Ensure Stories and Sprints adhere to standards and quality measures
    • Identify warning signs and act with a sense of urgency to resolve
    • Provide decisive responses to challenges and issues
    • Provide transparent planning, control and reporting through tooling (JIRA, Scrum boards, burndowns)

    Stakeholder Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationship with product manager(s)
    • Develop a safe and open environment to instill confidence and trust within the team
    • Encourage involvement and commitment from all to help build an effective dynamic team
    • Provide guidance and support to resolve conflicts

    Essential Criteria

    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a technical role; And
    • A minimum of 3-5 years in a software development role; or  
    • A minimum of 3-5 years project/program management experience
    • Certified Scrum Master;
    • Proficient in use of Agile/Project Management tools, preferably Jira, Confluence, MS Project
    • Experience of delivering projects in an Agile scrum environment

    Desirable Criteria

    • Certified Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
    • Experience in generating reports and/or dashboards from JIRA and Confluence
    • Experience in coaching, mentoring and guiding team members
    • Ability to instinctively adapt communication, persuasion and negotiation skills depending on your audience, which will include senior leadership level
    • Experience and passion for coaching, mentoring and improvement of teams in Agile/Scrum methodologies
    • Seek to promote business practice, and take an active role in reviewing and changing it for the better
    • Be a natural facilitator, engaging with your team and beyond

    Travel Requirements

    • Occasional travel to Allstate Canada, Toronto for short periods
