  Job Description

  Allstate NI has an exciting opportunity for Senior Technical Leader to join a great team of technologist within Alliance – Product Technology. Alliance, known as the crown jewels of Allstate insurance, is currently transforming the core development environment. The successfully candidate will be given the opportunity to work on designing and building solutions Allstate Alliance insurance platform team.   

   

  You will have significant opportunity to be hands but be the global leader, coaching/ mentoring/ training other team members from Alliance in India, Northern Ireland and the USA

   

   

  Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

  • Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of customer environments in product lines and to ensure the delivery according to defined Service Level Agreements.
  • Process extended knowledge in various technologies (DevOps tools, Programming Skills - Scripting or OO) used by development and operations.
  • Define automation framework and drive automation and standardization.
  • Ensure smooth operations and maximize uptime for the Development Center
  • Instrumental in DevOps process and tools.
  • Define the product delivery roadmap to bring it into production.
  • Execute technical tasks to ensure efficient delivery of system landscape support core tasks in the assigned functional areas of responsibility
  • Support knowledge management within the team and between operations and development teams
  • Ensure excellent quality and maintain high standards in all processes listed in the relevant process map 
  • Contribute to operations model/operational processes and procedures
  • Partner support and cooperation

   

   

  Essential Criteria

  • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
  • 5+ years of software development experience (Java / DevOps / Scripting)
  • 3+ years in a management / leadership position working with cross site teams
  • Strong oral and written communication and persuasive presentation skills
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels, empowering collaboration globally
  • Ability to solve problems in a timely, structured manner with strong analytical approach.
  • Experience/knowledge in working in an Agile environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of code quality tooling including Jenkins / Sonar Cube
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Security standards at an Enterprise level

   

   

  Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in security tooling including Veracode, WhiteSource and NetSpaker or other Static and Dynamic code analysis tooling
  • Experience of working on large enterprise platforms
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Deployment tooling (XL Deploy / uDeploy etc)
  • Knowledge IBM WAS ND and Liberty CORE
