Job Description
Digital Claim File (DCF) – the award-winning document management system for Claims is looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic team of scrum/extreme programming (XP) developers in Belfast. If you want to work in modern tech stacks, new and innovative ways of working keep reading.
Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):
- Maintain an existing Tier 1 web based multi-platform enterprise level application, including triage and bug fixing, enhancing existing functionality and adding new functionality. Including participating in on call production support.
- Work in an Agile environment, attending stand ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retros etc. and be able to respond rapidly to resolve issues or outages.
- Collaborate cross-functionally as part of a wider team and daily co-ordination with team members from other specialist areas, e.g. Dev Ops, Tibco, Testing.
- Contributes to knowledge sharing, including fully document existing functionality as well as future enhancements.
- Establishes continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices
Essential Criteria
- Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
- Minimum of 2 years developing software in different programming languages, and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages, including but not limited to Java (Spring), and ReactJS.
- Knowledge of developing REST APIs including service discovery/registration, testing and management; experience using API gateways.
- Experience in using Integrated Development Environment, particularly IntelliJ or Eclipse.
- Knowledge in at least one of testing frameworks; junit, mockito or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of source control tools (E.g. Github, SVN etc.).
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of: Cloud Application Platform.
- Experience in using Node.js, especially in using NPM with Grunt.
- Experience in Test Driven Development.
- Experience of System Engineer and/or DevOps.
- Experience with Jenkins.
- Experience in working with repository managers for the management and deployment of build artifacts (E.g. Artifactory, Maven Nexus, Archiva).
- Experience in the development and maintenance of large web-based applications and / or distributed applications running across different platforms (Windows, Linux, Cloud).
