Key Account Manager

  • JOB SPECIFICATION:  Key Account Manager


    Function:  
    Managing the company’s relationship with some of our key customers in order to maintain and develop the sales of Nitronica’s capabilities and grow the business by providing the best service possible.  Equally important is the managing of internal relationships and representing the customer within Nitronica.  In this position the Key Account Manager is responsible for ensuring that the forecast sales volume and agreed strategic objectives for the accounts are met

    Principle Duties and Tasks:

    • Manage and develop specific key accounts both in the UK and overseas through planned individual customer visits and account support along with liaison with other internal departments.
    • Maintain and build long term relationships at all levels within the specific accounts.
    • Be the main point of contact and management of communications between the key customer and internal teams.
    • Maintaining and analysing customer data to provide customer relationship management via a CRM system.
    • Supply weekly and monthly sales activity and forecast information as required.
    • Attend relevant events and exhibitions.
    • Gain a thorough understanding of the customers’ business including products, markets and customers.
    • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions as necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
    • Contribute to the strategic account planning and the sales and marketing plan to ensure achievement of company objectives.
    • Create and maintain a personal presence on social networking sites (such as LinkedIn) in line with company policy and guidelines.
    • Attend training courses to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

    Specific Job Skills:

    • Experience in a customer facing role, managing accounts ideally within an engineering/manufacturing environment with the ability to understand technical issues.
    • Able to communicate effectively via written media and to be comfortable with using the internet for sales purposes including social networking sites.
    • Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator and be confident presenting to all levels within an organisation.
    • Able to demonstrate success and experience managing major accounts and large contracts.
    • Ideal background experience would be in electronics manufacturing or electronic component sales & marketing.


    Computer skills:

    • Must be adept in the use of Internet, email, MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, ideally Access or similar databases, CRM software and social networking for business.


    Literacy and Numeracy:

    • Able to understand basic business finance, e.g., gross margin percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads.


    Education:

    • Ideally a graduate in a business or a technical discipline but experience and character are just as important.
