Digital Learning Solution Team Lead

  • This is a great opportunity to lead a recently established team in supporting a modern and exciting enterprise wide cloud based digital learning system. This high profile role provides chances to work with many areas and stakeholders across the University.

    The core responsibility of the Team Lead is to maintain and support the Queens Digital Learning Solution (DLS) to meet the daily demands of the University, both students and staff.  You will provide support across the Faculties, Schools and Directorates for all business support needs.  You will oversee and manage day to day activities, liaising closely with the head of service and providing regular status updates to management including opportunities for service improvement and efficiencies in service delivery. The role will have a direct link to the external software provider and internal partners ensuring: Service Level Agreements are maintained and regularly reviewed; system upgrades are managed to limit downtime; and active system monitoring is in place.

    You will be responsible for the delivery of the required support function to make the most effective use of the system and realise the full benefits of implementation as well as looking for efficiencies and driving innovation in the team. 

    The department will run based on ITIL principles.

    The core functions of Student Services and Systems are:

    • Delivery of the core student administrative functions for the University in the provision of all Registry Services: Enrolment and Registration, Examinations and Graduation services including daily assistance to resolution of student issues.
    • The cross-functional operational service delivery of student information systems to all Schools, Directorate and Students across the University.
    • Delivery of strategic, business critical projects that form part of the University’s Strategic Student Information Systems Development Plan.

    This is a 12 month fixed term contract. 

    The successful candidate must have: 

    • Degree or postgraduate qualification with significant IT/ Computing or Business element plus 4 years’ experience as outlined below OR Significant recent relevant experience supporting a Virtual Learning system.
    • At least 4 years’ experience working with Virtual Learning or similar systems.
    • Experience of designing and implementing system support processes.
    • Experience in building and leading a support or similar function.
    • Experienced in support of cloud hosted managed service of major system for large organisation.
    • Experience in dealing with a wide range of customers and staff at all levels in an organisation.

    Grade 8 salary scale is £41,526 to £51,034 per annum
