    Job Description

    Allstate Northern Ireland is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Allstate Corporation employing over 2,000 people in Belfast, Northland (Derry) and Strabane, providing support to the largest publicly held insurance company in the US.

    Recently Allstate NI has established a small team to support the Investments Technology Team in the Home office with the aim to help retain knowledge capital within the Allstate Corporation. As we are expanding our team in ANI, we are seeking the best people with the freshest ideas to join and build our new team

    Allstate Investments manages close to $80 Billion of assets across portfolios for three major clients for Allstate to meet their investment objectives. The business model provides the foundation for daily decision-making and portfolio management. Allstate Investments strives to provide sustainable, competitive, risk-adjusted investment returns and investment-related services for the benefit of the Allstate Corporation. The size of the investment group exceeds 300 individuals across a variety of investment disciplines including taxable and tax-exempt fixed income, equities, private and alternative securities and commercial mortgages as well as accounting, finance and technology.     Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

    • Working closely with business professionals within Performance to develop and continuously improve our reporting infrastructure for monitoring, evaluating, and communicating returns across the investment portfolio.
    • Supporting and monitoring the inbound, outbound and event packages in the Performance Measurement application.
    • Maintaining existing platforms and creating new business solutions from inception to fully developed products.
    • Understanding and converting business requirements into tactical functional solutions.
    • Evaluating data issues through sound analysis and making recommendations for resolution.
    • Working closely with internal teams as well as Eagle Investment Systems resources to evaluate data issues through sound analysis and make recommendations for resolution.
    • Participates in technical on-call services as part of a rota

    Essential Criteria

    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
    • Third level degree qualification in computer science, mathematics, or equivalent.
    • 2+years’ experience with PL/SQL
    • 2+years’ experience in Application Batch support
    • Demonstrated analytic agility and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability and desire to learn new languages and technologies.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Solid written and oral communication skills.
    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment
    • Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA.

    Desirable Criteria

    • 2+ years’ experience or knowledge with ETL techniques and tools, Data Warehousing and Data Modeling.
    • Experience with Eagle Investment Systems beneficial although training is available.
    • Experience with Enterprise Integration tools (ETL, TIBCO BW, Oracle, SQL, Cloud) a plus
    • Competency in multiple development languages (Python, .NET, Java, Tableau, Informatica or SSIS etc.)
    • Works well with others, strong written and verbal communication, comfortable with varying (and reactive) daily responsibilities.
    • Ability to work independently, inquisitive nature, and ownership mentality.
    • Break down business problems into solvable components to recommend solutions.
