    Job Description

    ServiceNow Platform team is an Agile team focused on both building out new capabilities and maintaining existing functions of the Enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM) processes. This position also supports the administration and overall health of the ServiceNow platform. As part of our global strategy, we are looking to establish a team in ANI.

    The platform team helps drive automation and simplification throughout Allstate with many integrations to other vended products as well as internal applications. The team operates in an agile scrum environment with 2-week sprints/releases, daily virtual standups, sprint planning and retrospective meetings which are all part of the agile cycle. There is a great opportunity to take on new and challenging work while learning about the Enterprise ITSM processes.

    The platform team also implements the necessary patches and bi-annual platform upgrades. The team maintains the relationship with the ServiceNow vendor meeting bi-monthly to discuss platform issues, implementations, upcoming features, and best practices to optimize the performance and maintaining security. You will work closely with the process owners and guide users to the correct enterprise solution.  This is an opportunity to join an agile team where your innovative thinking and technology.

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

    The eligible candidate will assist in delivering solutions with the highest possible value as part of the ServiceNow platform team at Allstate Insurance Company.  The ideal candidate will possess the following:

    • Clear communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Be able to work in a paired programming agile/scrum environment
    • Capable of multi-tasking
    • Deliver on commitments and be able to answer “how to” technical and application configuration questions. 
    • Participation in all aspects of ITSM, on-call rotation, be engaged in bi-monthly releases as well as bi-annual platform upgrades.
    • Research new functionality and recommend solutions that deliver value.
    • Uses considerable judgment to determine solutions and seeks guidance on complex problems.

    Essential Criteria

    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in application development (ex: JavaScript, AngularJS)
    • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving code issues
    • Experience with interfacing technologies such as REST
    • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, priorities

    Desirable Criteria

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
    • Experience/strong knowledge of IT Service Management processes and IT Operations
    • Experience working with databases (ex:MySQL, Oracle)
    • Experience in SaaS and/or Cloud Infrastructure development
    • Experience supporting the ServiceNow platform by developing/modifying workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI scripts, tables
