    We are looking for an engaged and enthusiastic Software Engineering Manager to join our growing Analytics Engineering team and build out the next generation of our platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Java developer with significant experience in backend applications.

    We’re looking for someone with experience in developing scalable, distributed and highly available enterprise-level applications. The candidate must have strong, first-hand technical expertise in a variety of configuration management and web technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust scalable and distributed solutions that can manage large data sets.

    They must be at ease managing an agile environment with little supervision. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and test-driven development.

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

    • Manage the design and development of enterprise level applications.
    • Lead product development in an agile environment.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions.
    • Manage engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
    • Identify new technologies to continuously enhance the existing products

    Essential Criteria

    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
    • 5+ Years of hands-on experience in Java development.
    • 1+ Year experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
    • 1+ Year experience managing people

    Desirable Criteria

    • Experience working with Python, R,
    • Experience with Big Data and Streaming technologies such as: Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
    • Experience with Cloud Technologies: Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
    • Machine Learning knowledge and exposure.
    • Good understanding of building APIs and services using REST.
    • Experience using application development frameworks, e.g. - Spring
    • Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experience using build automation technologies like Gradle, Maven, Jenkins.
