  Job Description

  Encompass is a part of the Allstate Corporation, and creates value for independent agencies by uniquely serving the protection needs of mass affluent consumers, who generate higher average premiums, exhibit better loss and retention characteristics, and prefer tailored coverage solutions.

  The target market is the mass affluent consumers - offering a simplified and comprehensive household policy particularly attractive to mass affluent consumers that packages homes, autos, other vehicles, valuables, and more into a single annual policy with one bill, one deductible feature, one renewal, and one advisor – an independent insurance agent.

  Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

  The Encompass Information Delivery team supports the Encompass Data Warehouse and data marts. The team also provides support in the Hadoop Big Data space on a daily and weekly basis. Other key activities include end of hardware and product life remediation and secure computing activities such as a disaster recovery planning and execution.

  The ETL developer will be responsible for creating and maintaining Informatica mappings and workflows. The developer would also support the running of these workflows and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. The developer may also be required to performance tune the mappings and workflows.  This activity is also required in the Hadoop production support environment.

  Essential Criteria

  • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.
  • 3+ years IT working experience; and
  • Minimum of 1-year ETL experience (Informatica, Hadoop, Ab initio, DataStage SSIS); and
  • Minimum of 1-year PL-SQL experience; and
  • Minimum of 1 year 2 SQL experience.

  Desirable Criteria

  • Data Warehousing experience
  • Unix experience
  • Java Development experience

  On-Call Requirements

  • Cycle and Hadoop support required, rota shared among team
