  Job Description

  The successful candidate will be a key member of the Network Security Engineering team and should come from a background in networking and/or security. We are seeking a pro-active, detail orientated and highly motivated individual who would also be comfortable with client facing aspects of the role.

  Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

  Reporting directly to the Network Security Engineering Manager, responsibilities include:

  · Ongoing support and maintenance of Cisco IDS solution in Allstate

  · Ongoing support and maintenance of Firemon solution in Allstate

  · Ongoing support and maintenance of Palo Alto UserID solution in Allstate

  · Ongoing support and maintenance of Palo Alto Global Protect

  · Consult on requests the come into the Network Security Engineering teams Service Now queue

  · Ensuring requests meet information security standards

  · Implementing approved Firewall Change Requests

  · Peer reviewing team member’s implementations

  · Liaising with interfacing Security and Network teams to troubleshoot Firewall incidents

  · Participating in ongoing Firewall Policy improvement activity

  Essential Criteria

  · Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit.

  · Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a network and/or security related role including 2 years' expereince of firewalls; and

  · Solid understanding of IT Security concepts; and

  · Good understanding of networking (subnetting, VPN, switching and routing); and

  · Strong MS Excel skills; and

  · Ability to translate customer requirements into a technical solution

  Desirable Criteria

  · Experience of Palo Alto Firewalls

  · Exposure to Next Generation Firewalls

  · Experience of IDS/IPS technologies (preferably Cisco)

  · Experience of Firemon

  · Experience of proxy technologies

  · Experience of VPN technologies (preferably Palo Alto Global Protect)

  · Python scripting skills

  · Familiarity of Allstate Architecture

  · Knowledge of Server Load Balancing concepts

  · Cisco Certifications

  · Palo Alto ACE

  · CompTia Security+ or Network+

  · Experience using Python or similar scripting language

  On-call Requirements

  · The successful candidate will become part of the team on call rota.
