Technical Services Engineer Level 2

  • To help determine customer needs, as the customers first point of contact with Novosco this is a vital role within the organisation.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provision of support, both remotely and at customer premises working with computer users to resolve problems and answer questions on a variety of hardware components and software programs.
    • Other relevant and appropriate activities as required.
    In addition to the above duties and responsibilities the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity change the general character or level of responsibility to the post.

    Experience and Knowledge:
    • An understanding of the Citrix Virtualisation technology suite Supporting and maintaining XenApp server farms.
    • Windows Server technologies (Active Directory Group Policies, Remote Desktop Services, IIS, Certificate Services etc).
    • Supporting and maintaining XenDesktop sites, services, components and Desktops
    • Supporting and maintaining Citrix Provisioning Services workloads.
    • Linux and/or XenServer experience particularly in virtualising high end graphics
    • An understanding of Datacentre virtualisation technologies (VMware ESXi, XenServer, SAN technologies, Converged Infrastructure etc).
    • An understanding of network technologies (TCP/IP, VPN, DHCP/DNS, Firewall etc).
    • Supporting and Maintaining Cisco UCS
    • Basic PowerShell & scripting
    Education and Qualifications:
    • One or more of the following; Microsoft, Citrix, Cisco, VMware, Veeam or EMC certifications.
    • A full driving license - preferably clean, however consideration will be given to people with low number of points.
    Internal training on products and services will be provided. However, staff are expected to consistently keep abreast of new developments, which would impact on their areas of responsibility. Personal training in relation to this job description will be given as part of the company’s overall personnel development program.

    Conditions of Employment Salary:
    The salary and benefits for this position will be determined according to the experience of the person appointed.

    General Guidance:
