    Security Analyst

    As a Security Analyst you will work as part of the Security Operations Centre to provided analysis and remediation to security related technical and system problems of basic to medium complexity. You will be responsible for investigating, determining the validity and severity of a security related event and taking action to resolve or escalate as required.     In this role, you will:

    • Deliver real value by analyzing and resolving security related issues in a team based environment.
    • Provide in depth analysis on potential threats through the use of a range of analytic tools and practices.
    • Resolve severity 2 and 3 security incidents and document the incident handling process.
    • Conduct initial investigation on severity 4 security incidents.
    • Working with the wider Security Operations Centre, communicate and escalate incidents in line with documented procedures.
    • Identify suspicious activity based on data alerts and outputs from various toolsets including suspicious mails and social media.
    • Handle allocated ticketed incidents in a timely manner and with a focus on quality.
    • Engage, and lead when required, with projects being undertaken by the Security Operations Centre.
    • Embrace and champion the team’s culture of continuous improvement to identify and suggest improvements in processes and practices.
    • Continuously develop your skills and knowledge
    • Collaborate with and learn from the technical community across our organization through internal networks, events and communities of practice.

    Essential Criteria

    • A third level degree in an Information Security and Forensics related discipline
    • A minimum of one year cyber-security related experience in a commercial environment
    • In depth knowledge and practical experience of at least three of the following:
      • Log Analysis
      • Malware Analysis
      • Network Analysis
      • End-Point Analysis
    • Proven knowledge of the fundamentals of incident response and troubleshooting security related issues.
