Graduate QA Test Analyst

  • JOB TITLE: Graduate QA Analyst
    QA Team Lead


    • Join the existing Quality Assurance team, and perform software Quality Assurance duties as per existing Quality Assurance procedures.

    Main Duties:
    • Participate in requirements analysis to allow for Quality Assurance estimations for software development projects.
    • Create test cases/ scripts/ sample data based on project requirements.
    • Set up and execute tests on developed software and record evidence.
    • Raise defects with appropriate amount of details.
    • Perform security testing of developed software.
    • Explain the tests executed, data used, the results and defects to the software development team.
    • Provide constant communication and follow-ups with project leaders to track deliverables during test planning and execution phases where applicable.
    • Ensure tasks / deliverables are completed within schedule constraints.
    • Escalate issues to Team Lead as appropriate.
    • Clear and detailed documentation of work undertaken.
    • Adherence to the company’s documented Quality Assurance procedures.
    • Contribute to the continued development and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive company test pack which can be used by other QA Team staff.
    • Understand / develop an understanding of and adhere to all Information Security and Quality management best practices as implemented by the company and referenced in ISO:27001 and ISO:9001 respectively.

    General Duties:
    • Complying with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety procedures.
    • Carrying out any other functions deemed necessary by the Team Lead for the effective operation of the department.

    Remuneration and Conditions of Employment:
    • The post holder will be required to undertake such internal and/or external training as deemed necessary by Cover.Net.

    Candidate Criteria
    • Higher level education in Computer Science or a Software Testing related discipline, with an award/expected award of at least 2:1 or equivalent.
    • 1 years commercial placement in a Software Quality Assurance environment.
    • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels using a variety of media.
    • An effective, willing and enthusiastic team player.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to act on own initiative.
    • Methodological and logical approach to work and an eye for detail.
    • Good planning and organisational skills.

    • A demonstrable interest in technology outside of education would also be advantageous.
