    Job Description

    Production Control is dedicated to the monitoring and interacting with Allstate's Mainframe systems. The team is responsible for ensuring the efficient and successful execution of Allstate’s 7x24 batch environments.

    The PCA Production Control Analyst is responsible for executing and monitoring daily batch processing cycles, troubleshooting and resolving low to moderately complex job abends and incidents, and fulfilling low complexity job scheduling requests.

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to): 

    • Workload Management:  Proactive monitoring and execution of the daily scheduled mainframe batch jobs, to maximize the use of system resources and meet all service level commitments.
    • Systems Management: Work with others to plan and execute low to moderate complexity system maintenance and installation work
    • Incident Management:  Investigate, analyze and resolve issues to restore failed configuration items, related to batch processing or monitored tasks, as quickly as possible with minimal impact on business operations.
      • Action taken as job support documentation
      • Communicate with colleagues and clients as appropriate
      • Resolution steps taken are updated in the relevant ServiceNow ticket
      • Participation and contribution if escalated to Incident Review
    • Request Management:  Timely and accurate processing of job requests from our clients and monitor queues on the Job Request System (JRS) / ServiceNow Catalogue
    • Change Execution:  Uploading and monitoring of client submitted approved changes in a timely and accurate manner. Requests are submitted via Allstate Program Transmittal Facility (APTF).
    • Support: Respond to calls through Avaya Agent call bridge for Production Control
    • Process Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements and where needs initiate or update documentation with detailed operational procedures and appropriate technical input.


    Essential Criteria
     

    • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment
    • Experience of Problem solving and has an analytic mindset to undertake investigation and resolution of incidents / issues
    • Experience of handling ticket queues, processing requests and prioritization when required
    • Previous experience in an operations environment


    Desirable Criteria
     

    • Mainframe knowledge - In Particular, Job Control Language (JCL) and System Display and Search Facility (SDSF).

     
    Hours of Work:

    • 4.45am - 13.15pm. Team provides support 7 days a week – Weekend days are rotated among the team.
    • Nonstandard working hours allowance is applicable.
