THE ROLE (FUSION Project) – 18 months
The main objective of the project is to design and develop an embedded wireless solution for the See.Sense patent pending sensor platform. This will enable it to be used on city bikes, providing a mobile sensor platform for cities.
SeeSense needs to bolster their expertise and to reduce their reliance on bought in technology by designing and developing their own embedded solutions for RF connectivity using Bluetooth, and the emerging Low Power Wide Area network (LPWAN) e.g. LoRa, Sigfox and NB-IoT. In parallel, another important objective is to build up embedded design knowledge and capability within the company, in order to reduce costs, increase innovation, and expand the product range and markets.
Reporting to the Company Supervisor, you will be employed by See.Sense to lead this InterTradeIreland FUSION project in partnership with the Letterkenny Institute of Technology. As part of this role you will be required to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, from the William J. Clinton Leadership Institute at Queen’s University, Belfast. This is fully funded by InterTradeIreland. The skills learned through the Diploma will enhance your personal, professional and managerial capabilities and will provide you with the necessary and valuable business skills to help you undertake your project role.
