Digital Learning Solution Analyst

  • The Digital Learning Solutions Analysts work in close liaison with the DLS Team Lead, the DLS System Analyst and relevant Stakeholders to analyse and review feature requests and scheduled updates within the Virtual Learning Environment (Canvas by Instructure) to improve the Learning and Teaching experience at Queen’s University Belfast.

    The successful candidate will play a significant role in the end-to-end management of the feature request queue, communication of new updates/feature implementations and creating and maintaining VLE Improvement processes.

    They will also liaise with other internal staff to ensure GDPR and other university policies and procedures are being met within the Virtual Learning Environment and its integrated technologies. This role with also liaise with Instructure, other Universities and Third Party companies to co-ordinate best learning technology solutions and to stay informed of the latest updates/features available within the VLE.
    The team will operate based on ITIL principles.

    The successful candidate will:
    • A degree and 3 years’ recent relevant experience supporting or updating a Virtual Learning system or other Student/Staff system OR Significant recent relevant experience supporting or updating a Virtual Learning system or other Student/Staff system.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ extensive experience of a Virtual Learning System or a Student/Staff System in providing system improvements/updates or end-user support.
    • Experience in business analysis & gathering requirements. Experience of reviewing and analysing significant system changes/updates. Experience in the design and delivery of system training and in ensuring compliance with data protection policies.
    • Experience in producing documentation for a range of stakeholders e.g. Status Reports, Test Plans, training programmes, operational procedures, contributing to strategies. Experience of leading, or contributing to, the development of procedures and of problem follow through and issue resolution.
