  • Catalyst – The Innovation Centre, Queens Road, Belfast , BT3 9DT
  • Belfast, Northern Ireland

Artificial intelligence is a technology that enables a machine to simulate human behavior. Machine learning is a subset of AI which allows a machine to automatically learn from past data without programming explicitly. The goal of AI is to make a smart computer system like humans to solve complex problems.

Why attend:

  • Find out what AI/ML are
  • Learn how their unique characteristics address many business issues
  • Discover AI/ML applications for businesses across sectors - manufacturing, logistics & fleet management, professional services, retail, hospitality, agriculture, construction & civil engineering - and more!

Through use cases and success stories from various industries we'll share ideas that are accessible, practical, usable, useful and affordable.

Meet the trainer:

Phil Weir runs Flax & Teal, a web and data science consultancy, and is part of Avata Industries, a collaborative network of Industry 4.0 experts focused on delivering digital transformation. Phil is passionate about Open Source technology - software that is more reliable, more flexible, and has more longevity than its proprietary peers because it is developed by communities rather than a single company. He is also a board member of OpenUK (promotes businesses, projects and people, who use and develop open source software, open hardware and open data).

Kindly hosted by Catalyst, an independent, not-for-profit organisation working together for the greater good, enabling a connected community of like-minded innovators in an entrepreneurial eco-system that is the key driver of the knowledge economy in Northern Ireland. Catalyst is a force for good, bold in its approach, with integrity at its core and passion in everything it does.

This project is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) Programme.
