Can machines truly explain why they make decisions?
What does it mean to give a causal explanation in AI - and why does it matter?
Where do Large Language Models fit into the causal XAI landscape?
Following the success of the inaugural Causal XAI Workshop held in 2023, which brought together researchers to explore promising approaches on causal XAI, we are pleased to announce a second edition of the workshop.
Causal XAI Workshop II aims to continue fostering this growing community, showcasing recent advances, highlighting new applications, and stimulating interdisciplinary dialogue. This year, we introduce a special focus on the intersection between Causal XAI and Generative AI, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), as one of several key themes that will be addressed.
The workshop will provide a forum for presenting new research, debating foundational issues, sharing tools and datasets, and encouraging critical reflection on the societal and ethical implications of causal XAI. Participants will have the chance to network and hear invited speakers who are experts on XAI. There is also the opportunity to display a poster (abstract submission required). This will be a free in-person meeting, including refreshments and lunch.
